It's only the second time I have done it. Now, I just have to wait for bubbles.

Did you use a smack pack for yeasties? If so you should be good.

I was wondering about that one myself... It's True Brew Double IPA. No real burnt stuff on the bottom, so I cant really give the color over to that. As long as it comes out tasting okay...

no. it was a regular pack, so I will just have to wait it out. Worst case is I go get some more yeast and give that a go

One is a community tank, lots of platies, a couple angels (one is a Koi angel, very pretty) tons of cories, all sorts of stuff. The other is my tank... It has the Ornate Bicher, Senegal Bicher, African Leaf, and the Jack Dempsey. Also has a Golden Algae eater to fight the algae.

I'll be darned. Pretty dark. Could just be the light. What sort of malt? 60L? 80? Planning to dry hop?

It could also be the angle of the picture, and sometimes beers change color as they ferment. Here's hoping! Just got a text from the sister, she's bottling her English Brown ale with cocoa. Expected finish date: my birthday.
yusssss

As long as you sterilized everything that touched your beer after the boil you should be fine. Hopefully I'll be able to brew a batch up pretty soon. It is pretty hard to mess up unless you scorch your wort. Enjoy the fruits of your labor in a few weeks.

It was a kit... I dont rightly recall the ingredient list, but it did leave me a couple of ounces to dry hop with, so they will be going in in a few days. After that I will probably secondary it to clear it up a bit , then bottle.

Trust me on that one, beer is SURPRISINGLY DIFFICULT to mess up. My first brew was such a cluster: Had to bring back up to a boil to do the hops cycle, had to let it sit on the hops in the fridge for 3 days and then bring it back up to temp so I could pitch yeast, never had an active ferm... Yeesh, it was soo bitter going into secondary that I was tempted to chuck it. But I let it sit for another 3 weeks, and it calmed down a lot, and actually turned out really, really good. It was a real sleeper beer too, had about 9%, but you couldn't taste it at all.

Well, just added an ounce of cascades and an ounce of Amarillo today. nice nasty pile of green brown sludge now on top of the beer. Smells good though! Side note; I always thought that Amarillo hops should be called Armadillo, you know, since they like to hop.
